In this workshop, the foundations of neural networks will be presented, complemented by in-class exercises. The lectures assume familiarity with mathematical language, but do not require any prerequisites concerning neural networks. All participants are asked to bring a personal computer/laptop for use during the in-class exercises. No specialized software will be needed.

This workshops precedes the annual meeting of the SPP 2256.
